Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra led by Vasily Petrenko, play at Konzerthaus in Freiburg opening with Dvořák’s rumbustious Carnival Overture, a lively and celebratory piece bursting with energy. Following this, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto brings fire and ferocity, offering both soloist and orchestra the chance to shine in one of the violin repertoire’s most enduring and beloved concertos. The program concludes with Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra, a spectacular work that goes beyond its colorful orchestration to depict a profound struggle between darkness and light, ultimately crowned by a triumphant shout of joy.
